 Student Teaching
QUEST 3, typically known as student teaching, is performance-focused, immersing candidates in the real work of teachers in school settings. Candidates are supported in the schools by quality Site-Based Teacher Educators and trained university supervisors; on campus through regular Student Teaching professional development, and online from faculty and peers.
Internship Program
The University of Houston Teacher Internship Program was designed and implemented in 1990 for the student in the College of Education who already has a baccalaureate degree, has completed all the prerequisite courses and certification requirements for student teaching, and desires an alternative approach to student teaching so that he/she can teach full‐time as a teacher‐of‐record in a selected school district in the Houston area. This program is not an alternative certification program; it simply offers an alternative approach to student teaching.
