Review of Last Week's Assignments

Conduct some research on the web to see if you can find at least one example of how a blog is successfully being used in a health-care related area and another one that demonstrates an unsuccessful use of a blog. Once you have selected the blogs, go to the CUIN 7376m blog at http://cuin7376m.blogspot.com/ and post your comments under the Class One Assignment. In your posting, you should discuss the following:

• Who created and is maintaining the blog?
• What is its purpose and who is the intended audience?
• Who is participating in the blog?
• Do you think the information is accurate? Why or why not?
• What do you think are some of the characteristics of the blog that make it successful or not successful?
• Are there any characteristics of the blog that you feel could be used in your health-care related area? Please elaborate.
• Is there anything else you would like to add about the blog (or blogs) you found?
   

We will also discuss how to delete blog postings and re-post them as comments.

And here's a link to a blog that deals with the Houston Center for the Brain and Mind Sciences, which according to the blog was founded in March, 2008, and is to be a premier inter-institutional research center that capitalizes on existing strengths and unique and complementary features of the respective programs at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Houston. Focused in the Gulf Coast area, it will become the epicenter of an emerging field that combines the life, engineering and social sciences.
