Class 10 - Thursday August 7, 2008

Our Final Online Class Session

Our last meeting of the semester will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008, beginning at 5:00pm.

Please use the following URL to access the online session:

http://coe-it.na3.acrobat.com/m7376

IMPORTANT NOTE: We will begin the session using webcams and microphones in order to test the system.

However, once we are all logged into the online session, we will switch to a telephone conferencing system to also test how the audio of all participants sounds using this method.

The telephone number we will be using is  1-309-946-5100. The access code will be given out during our online session.

When we are using webcams and microphones for audio, it may help to know a few things about the Connect Pro system.

In order to turn on your microphone or webcam after it is connected, click on the icon at the bottom left of the Camera and Voice pod as shown below.

This should bring up a small Flash Player Settings window that looks like this:

Click the Allow button and this should start your webcam or microphone.

At the bottom left of the Connect Pro screen, you will see a Talk icon. You can either use the Hold to Talk feature, where you must hold down the button to talk.

Another option is to click on the hands-free button so that you may talk continuously without having to keep clicking.

However, in our online session, we may find that using the Hold to Talk option is a better choice for us to reduce the background noise that will be created by having multiple users logged on at the same time.
